The series 9020010700 & 9020011000 Aircraft Stick Grip Assembly mounts on the aircraft control stick and is the main pilot/aircraft interface for flight and fire control systems for the F-15 and F-18 aircraft. The grip assemblies provide a variety of pilot actuated functions for flight, avionic and armament systems including nose wheel steering, aircraft trim, sensor control, weapons select, gun/missile firing and inflight fuel probe disengagement. The stick grip is made of molded plastic, electromagnetic shielded, of low heat conductivity, and is resistant to environmental conditions per MIL-STD-810. Available switches range from low level through 5 amps. The assembly is designed to operate over a temperature range from -54°C(-65°F) to +71°C(+160°F) continuous and at altitudes from sea level to 70,000 feet.

One of Essex's newer aerospace products is the Throttle Control Grip for the McDonnell Douglas T-45 Trainer. This compact grip assembly is machined from high-strength aluminum alloy, and contains several single- and multi-function switch assemblies. This grip assembly provides main engine thrust control, engine start/relight, speedbrake control, radio transmit, and external light control.

Essex's newest land-based weapon control grip, the Bradley MGTS variant, contains several single- and multi-function switches used for turret control and to select various fire control options. This grip is manufactured from a high-strength aluminum die casting, and is easily repairable in the field.

Our first complete production HOTAS suite, the T-38 Avionics Upgrade Program (AUP) grip assemblies. These units are manufactured from high-quality aluminum alloy castings, and contain several single- and multi-function switch assemblies used for flight and engine thrust control, weapon control, expendable countermeasures deployment, radio transmit, nosewheel steering, aircraft trim, avionics systems control, and speedbrake control. |
