	Pulsation Dampeners
	Essex is the world leader in hydraulic pulsation dampening technology and experience. Our dampeners can be found on most major airliners, as well as a number of regional, corporate and private jet aircraft. Our dampeners are constructed of high-strength 15-5 or 17-4PH hardened steel, and have been successfully tested to pressures in excess of 25,000 psig. The performance of these units is unmatched with respect to peak-to-peak pressure pulse reduction, size and weight. Our engineering staff, using a sophisticated computer sizing program, can quickly evaluate your requirements and recommend a dampener for your application. In most cases, this can be done in less than an hour.
		One of our larger pulsation dampeners is shown to the left. This unit is mounted onto a highly complex manifold assembly for system integration. This unit's performance is optimized in the 300-600 Hz frequency range. This style dampener has also been installed in both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.
		Pictured here is one of our in-line designs. This unit is easily adapted into the hydraulic circuit with little space required. This unit is designed for a frequency range of 750-1500 Hz.
		Our most extraordinary design is installed on an engine lubrication pump. Due to severe envelope constraints, this unit is designed with dual rectangular chambers to dampen pressure pulsations at two distinct frequencies. This is our first production non-hydraulic pulsation dampener, which demonstrated significant peak-to-peak pressure pulse reduction over the pump's operating range.
		One of our smaller dampeners, this unit is currently installed when very little space is available. This unit has proven pulsation dampening results of 80-90% over the entire system operating range.
