The Essex Factory Mutual approved Thermal and Electro-Thermal shut-off butterfly valve actuators meet the needs of petroleum and process industries and other plant applications where flammable fluids are piped and controlled. These actuators, when used in conjunction with high performance butterfly valves using resilient/metallic seating arrangement, have the ability to shut-off in the event of a fire or a hazardous situation. The basic TA series actuator comes standard with a 165°F thermal link, but may be purchased with other links set at 135°, 212°, 286°, 360° and 500°F. Or as an option the unit can be purchased with an ETL (Electro-Thermal-Link) 165°F for the purpose of hooking the unit to a gas or smoke detector and operating the unit remotely. The ETL is available in optional temperatures of 212° and 255°. The Butterfly valves are not manually operable in the pipe line and fail closed, only. |
